In the movie Storm Warrior II, produced and directed by the Pang Brothers, a galaxy of stars are united, including Arron Kwok, Ekin Cheng, Charlene Choi, Tang Yan, Nicholas Tse and Simon Yam. The movie’s official website was launched in Beijing on Monday to promote the flick.
Simon Yam, who portrays the role Lord Godless, was present at the launch ceremony.
The film was shot in three studios in Bangkok, and it is hailed as the first Chinese film shot in blue-screen. Yam said the filming process is extremely painstaking, and the post production takes even more effort for it employs an abundance of cutting-edge computer technologies.
Although “The Storm Warriors II” is Simon Yam’s first costume drama, he’s confident about his performance.
Actor Simon Yam said, “I love to play action scenes. I’ve appeared in many Kungfu thrillers before, but this is my very first costume drama. For me it makes no difference. All I need to do is to switch my outfit from barehanded combat to sophisticated weaponry. It’s not that difficult.”
“The Storm Riders”, with Arron Kwok and Ekin Cheng playing the leads, was released ten years ago. Although the Pangs say “The Storm Warriors II” is not a direct sequel to “The Storm Rider,” movie buffs are expecting the two leads to bring the stunning visual effects and exquisitely penned fighting scenes to new heights. The film tells of evil warlord Lord Godless who wants to conquer China. Whispering Wind and Striding Cloud come together to stop him, beginning a battle between good and the evil.
